About Bozeman, Montana
Bozeman is a fast-growing community in central Montana, just north of Yellowstone
National Park. Our great quality of living is created by fresh air, wide-open
Montana skies, and a great community. The city of Bozeman features great restaurants,
world-class museums, fine arts and superb recreation opportunities. We are home
to the Montana State University.
Recreation
Bozeman is located at the juncture of Rocky Mountains and Montana central plains
that offers great skiing, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, fishing and other
recreational opportunities. Once you've experienced the mountain life of outlying
Bozeman, you won't want to go anywhere else. In Bozeman, you can jump on your
mountain bike and be at awesome hills in the matter in minutes.
The surrounding mountains are a cross-country ski mecca. If you prefer downhill
skiing, the best in the country is to be found at Bridger Bowl ski area. This
still-uncrowded ski area has great powder through much of the season, and awesome
views.
Fishing along the Madison, Yellowstone and Gallatin rivers is incomparable
-- unless you compare it to fishing on our numerous mountain lakes and streams.
In addition to the shear number of places to wet a line in southwest Montana,
you will experience an abundance of wild trout.
This area is a wildlife lovers dream. Our proximity, close to Yellowstone Park,
blesses us with numerous big game: deer, moose, elk and even bison! But be careful,
we also have mountain lions, bears, and wolves. And those lovely moose have
been known to charge an unwitting camper now and again, so it is best to be
prepared with some wilderness wisdom before seeking the truly wild areas of
the region.
